Crowns (Caps) & Onlays

Crowns are used when a tooth is decayed or broken to such an extent that bonded fillings or onlays can’t be used. We use different types of crowns depending on the area of the mouth or the presence of a clenching or grinding habit. Besides crowns, another option we have for teeth that have damaged or decayed areas too large for bonded fillings is a ceramic material designed and produced by our state-of-the-art computer assisted micro milling machine, our “CEREC 3″. With this CAD/CAM we are able to start and finish a crown or onlay at the same appointment. No temporaries or follow up appointments are needed. Also, the new ceramic materials are durable, have the same hardness as tooth enamel, and are almost invisible.
